Honeywell Home T6 Pro

Based on 29 comments across 3 communities
TL;DR
Owners lean heavily on the T6 Pro for its rock-solid Z-Wave and local smart-home control, pairing it reliably with Home Assistant and similar setups while keeping it working even when the internet is down. It handles nearly any HVAC configuration without a C-wire and is praised as an affordable, dependable workhorse. The main gripes are a dated interface, the occasional finicky or bad unit, and some quirks in temperature and humidity reporting.

There are also lots of really bad reviews on them (including the honeywell website with only 2.5 star rating) and from my experience they are trash and can be finicky

I use the Honeywell T6 Pro in my home, but I think it is obsolete at this point. The important points are simplicity and reliability.

When I logged into hass the next time it said "We found a new homekit device: Thermostat". Please note, I don't do homekit despite having all apple devices. Two clicks and a code read off the screen and I had a thermostat in hass.

Thr T6pro has issues wanted to avoid, was set on 8000 until finding the April Aire

I've had great experience with my Honeywell T6 Pro (Z-Wave). Pros: - It works 100% without internet / wifi - You can still expose it to the internet (and Google Home) via Home Assistant if you want - It works perfectly fine as a 'dumb' thermostat - Honeywell is a reputable thermostat brand compared to some sketchy brands you find in the 'Smart Thermostat'

After any configurations are done via the touch screen, the temperature reported spikes 3-4 degrees and then will slowly ramp back down to the real temperature reading.

When I turned on advanced reporting on my T6 the humidity dithered between 30% and 31% every minute or so.

I'm using two Honeywell T6Pro ZWave and have enjoyed them over the Nest Gen3. The T6 Pro works with single stage, two stage, heat pump, you name it... 4 wire, 5 wire, 6 wire... it's the swiss army knife of local only stats.

I have 9 Honeywell T6 Pro Z-wave thermostats, and 2 Nest's for the main floor. I wish I just went with the all Z-wave tbh, I can't even get my second Nest to setup with the app yet

I typically install Bosch systems with Honeywell T6 Pros or the T10. The T10 has the advantage as it can use internet weather for the dual fuel compressor lockouts. The T6 Pro needs a hard wired outdoor temperature sensor. Both have app connectivity, the T10’s interface is better than the T6 Pro.

I have door locks (u-bolt), thermostat (honeywell T6 pro z-wave), light switches (zooz), motion sensors (zooz), contact sensors (zooz), smart plugs (zooz) and it's all been working pretty great for me.

But not my Honeywell T6 Pro ZWave thermostats. I consider myself very lucky the installers chose that for their package.

Google home and assistant will work with the t6pro smart . That's what I use.

It doesn't have inputs for 15 different temp sensors, but it has a pretty smart algorithm where if you tell it what kind of heat you have and how many cycles per hour you want it to do, it'll maintain your temp pretty well by understanding how long it takes for the heat to react and turning on heat before the temp drops.

Honeywell is pretty much Rosetta stone across the industry. Maybe get a bad one from the batch every 3 years or so, but they are honestly the only residential control I'll install.

my thermostat (Honeywell T6 Pro Z-Wave) looks like a normal thermostat. All of my stuff looks like normal stuff, functions like normal stuff, and will always work even if my automation fails.

I have a couple [T6 Pros](https://www.supplyhouse.com/Honeywell-Home-Resideo-TH6220WF2006-T6-Pro-Smart-Wi-Fi-Programmable-Thermostat-2H-2C) connected to Home Assistant via the Home Kit integration. Works quite well.

I just closed on my house and it came with two T6’s (previously had 2 Nests for about 5 years). Since I’ve connected the thermostats I’ve had 24/7 uptime and instant connection. Given i have a rock solid home network.

Honeywell has wifi stats you can get on Amazon for less than 100 bucks if you want that. T6Pro is what we use and get zero complaints about.

A Honeywell T6Pro is what I went for, because it's cheap. The "smart" but will be handled by HA but using HA to set the set temperatures.

I honestly hate all the “smart” thermostats especially if they’re supplied by an alarm company. My go to is the Honeywell t6pro wifi.

I am using the Honeywell app+smartthings to control my t6pro without any issues. The app has geo fencing and scheduling in it.

If you're looking for a good smart thermostat that can be used without a C wire and with a 12V system I'm using the Honeywell T6 Pro Z-Wave, it works with the 12V furnace and with the AC including running the fan on high as a 2nd stage.

I have z-wave primarily for my smart thermostats - I couldn't find a ZigBee option as good as the Honeywell T6 Pro
