And above all, the sound has way too much treble, and it's not a natural treble. There's a plasticky timbre that stands out, and a lot of sibilance.

I bought a pair of these to complement my S12, and it's phenomenal. The Hexa feel so effortless in their presentation.

Have them. They didn’t blow me away. And then I realized that’s the point. They also never disappoint with too much anything. Neutral with just a little added “spice”.

I like Hexa. Safe tuning, cohesive, and smooth. Good for long listening. But bass should be better, since it has dedicated DD drivers for bass.

the Hexa is perhaps the *finest* sound reproduction device of any kind ever produced for under $100. I can not fault them in any way. They are 10/10 in my books. Flawless, punchy, detailed, beautifully musical presentation.

I got one today and was playing with EQ to get rid of this somewhat nasal sound and the irritating sibilance in some tracks.

I bought these by mistake. I am pleasantly surprised.

In my perceiveness I'd say sometimes I really think the hexa has too much base

when I use them immediate nausea arises followed by headache and muscle tension. Yesterday I thought I was feeling unwell, but it happened today too. I'd say it has something to do with the peak at 8 kHZ or maybe it can't control very well high frequencies

I prefer the build of the Hexa. The Pure is chunkier and I find the Hexa fits me better overall, even though it has a more cumbersome nozzle.

Since I'm always regretting having to return Hexa due to impossibility to get a good seal in any way

I’ve been using the Hexa for the last 3 days now and I was too pleasantly shocked by just how great they sound. I EQ’d down some of the treble and gain region just a hair and now it’s a damn near perfect out and about set for me.

Audio Science Review— neutral

The Hexa was back in its day a very good one, no doubt about it. Today it felels a bit outdated. My sample showed, compared, some quite elevated distortion.

I had the Hexxa and only liked them with the Sonicfoam tips which are very squishy and feel large until they compress if you hold them in five seconds. I really like the Truthear Zero blue for music better, and See Audio Yume is also better than the Hexxa just in my opinion.

The only IEMs I’ve heard that are better than the Hexa: B2 Dusk, S8, Variations, Monarch (1 and 2), Andro 2020. But I’ve owned close to 50 IEMs over the last decade. The price/performance here is totally S tier.

Love this IEM. It has an overall natural presentation, with good treble extension. Beautiful aesthetically, rather comfortable; the matte black with smoked shells is a combo that really appeals to me.

I also found it to be tack sharp to my ears and its been collecting dust since.

Have my Hexa- prefer to the Zero- much nicer and lighter build. Sound fine stock but a bit bright- gentle EQ of course and they are good to go.

But if I had no access to EQ? I'd recommend the Zero over the Hexa every day of the week, it sounds a whole lot better out of the box.

Compared to my sub $30 IEMs these sound so much better out of the box! I am looking forward to tweaking these a bit. I love jazz and these are almost as good as some of my $$$ headphones.

Head-Fi▼ don’t recommend

Truthear Hexas have nice detail but are a bit light and airy.

Head-Fi▼ don’t recommend

Hexas just wobbled too much inside my ears.

YouTube▲ recommend

Rare IEM that was worth the hype upon release that has gotten better with age.

To buy or not to buy: to buy, but only after thoughtful listening and clear understanding that you need exactly this kind of sound.
