Affiliate blogs here say 100% recommend, while the owner-based score is 71%. They earn a commission on every sale — so we show them for transparency but never let them move the score.

The headline score reflects owners (Reddit, enthusiast forums), independent lab tests, blogs with no affiliate links, and YouTube owner-comments when they line up with owners. YouTube and Affiliate blogs are shown for perspective but kept out here — hover the i for why.

Who it's for
A great fit if
  • Players wanting warm, natural analog delay
  • Guitarists after slapback and short echo settings
  • Ambient players needing swells that preserve the dry signal
  • Beginners who want simple, hands-on controls
Look elsewhere if
  • Players needing versatility beyond one analog sound
  • Those wanting very long delay times
  • Buyers who may prefer the more featured Deluxe version

Easily my favourite delay pedal!

Great pedal for me. Yes the Delay does not go slow enough. And, yes the location of the power port is ridiculous and causes problems in set up.

I tried one and while it's a very good bang for the buck and the size is desireable, it still doesn't have anything on my DMM.

It was my first delay to buy, first to get rid of.

Love mine. I’ve had it for a decade now & it’s still my favorite delay.

the mxr is really nice, but its a one trick pony. It does the analog thing really well, but thats it.

MXR carbon copy. Were I buying now, I’d get the deluxe

I was really dissapointed with the CC. Took it back the next day because every time I tried to adjust it it caused an awful feedback loop.

I don't think the Carbon Copy sounds any better then the analog settings on the FB/FB4

I've owned many others, but I always go back to this.

Sounds very murky to me. Not as clear as my Boss DD3.

Toured heavily with this pedal.

The pedal works great for slapback settings, too.
