One of the annoying parts of the Bambino Plus for me is the forced clean or descale cycle. You can pull a great shot, be ready to steam, but that shot just triggered the mandatory clean cycle and there is no way to bypass it.

My first thought when I unboxed the B+ was: "Really? Why didn't I just buy the regular Bambino for $100 less and (a) steam manually, or (b) use my superauto to foam the milk?

The shots I've been pulling have a rich sweetness, heavy mouthfeel, and full body. Few other machines in its class can deliver this quality of espresso from such a small footprint.

on the plus, I am fairly confident that the blank preheat shots DO count on the shot counter towards the forced cleaning cycle that you can't get out of (despite the manual saying that you can skip the cleaning cycle, it's not true on my Plus).

I bought my current Bambino Plus second hand off of Facebook Marketplace as well back in the summer. $300 well spent. I cleaned it really good and it works perfectly, still have it.

I bought a second-hand Bambino Plus, removed the insert and it was absolutely filthy underneath (a bit of ground coffee and a film of dried coffee oils) - it's just impossible to clean this area.

I’ve had my Bambino Plus for about month and my experience aligns with your measurements. The machine performs so much better with dark roasts.

But I'm happy with my purchase bambino plus for 250€ for now. I love that it heats up so quickly even though that's also sort of the reason for the lack of temperature stability

Bambino plus + Df54 is my personal recommendation for almost anyone wanting to get into coffee. It's really convenient and easy to get going with to make really nice drinks.

It does a nice job with auto steam, but I still preferred manual for better consistency for latte art

Tempretures and consistency are pretty good for me this way using medium and dark roast beans. I don't use light roast beans with this machine. Tried a few times and could never get good results.

I have the plus. I never use the auto steam feature. Never. And I fill the take maybe once per week.

My Coffee Explorer▲ recommend

The automatic steam wand produces properly textured microfoam suitable for latte art. The build quality feels premium despite the plastic exterior.

Coffeeness (affiliate)— neutral

The espresso earned a passing grade, even though it was definitely too tepid for my taste.

This is by far the best automatic frother I have tried - the fact that you can get perfect latte foam with or without effort is incredible.

My biggest Bambino's pros: - Way smaller footprint on the kitchen counter (my main reason of switching). And also i don't like having the grinder that i never use. - Relieves pressure after brewing, so the puck is less wet. ( pretty nice) - Automatic milk for latte is really nice if i have to make multiple latte's for guests.

with a Breville Smart Grind Pro (which everyone on here hates) and the Bambino Plus I can pull a very enjoyable shot with the single wall.

The steam is actually quite powerful for such a small machine, and you should pretty quickly be able to get the right texture.

PID control and 9-bar extractions with pre-infusion make the Bambino Plus the easiest on-ramp to cafe-quality shots at home.

As someone with a bambino plus I agree with everything you mentioned here My only thing would be that speed, even in high-end machines, should be a feature! I love espresso, but I cant imagine making my drink take any longer than it does now

r/Coffee▲ recommend

Bambino plus and SGP are good combo - quick, tasty coffee! The footprint is small, workflow quick, and auto-frothing not too bad. I've also not seen another machine at this price that is capable of manual pre-infusion! For 95pc guests and family this will be great.

the bambino+ looks like and pretty much has been a perfect starting point for us to learn.
