This is the most confusing and stupidest design ever. Like a bunch of engineers made all this and made the toaster keep the light on but didn’t think of the timer starting properly?

I can fit things like a 9x13 in the pro. I just upgraded from another Breville model that's the size of the smaller smart oven and I loved it but the extra space is really nice.

I bought the ATK recommended Breville smart oven air pro for Xmas last year, and it’s great, except I can’t get the results I want from the air fryer function to work like I want

It delivers results on par with, or in many cases superior to, traditional ovens. Higher price point than smaller competitors, but its versatility and durability justify the investment.

I'm pretty unhappy with mine overall- doesn't cook evenly, does a poor job air frying (which is apparently because it's just too large), and it is absolutely impossible to clean.

Great toaster oven but poor air fryer compared to a dedicated one. Having the heat source directly over the food is a gamer changer.. Breville is more like a standard convection oven.

It worked pretty well even though it heats a little unevenly across the top (half of the stuffing pan almost burned, while the other half was good), but the top gets ludicrously hot.

Love the oven, pretty much replaced our large gas oven. We found though like you, it's a bit of a pain to clean and the air fryer mode isn't as good as a standalone air fryer.

I actually really like this oven. In fact I never use our actual oven because how good this breville oven is. But itching to try a dedicated air fryer for actual air frying.

I own a Smart Oven and an air fryer. The Smart Oven air frying function is limited as compared to a basket air fryer. I’m ok with my purchases because budget wasn’t a major consideration.

we panic bought another because we rely on it so much and couldn’t stomach Covid lockdown with 4 kids and no breville. Would replace immediately if anything happened to it!

I put a probe thermometer in the oven as it was cooking and realized it's like a hundred degrees cooler than it says it is. When it beeped as being preheated to 400 on airfry, it was at 270.

The Ninja is a way better air fryer than the Breville. The Breville Is a glorified toaster oven. I do put the drip tray under anything I cook otherwise it's a pain to clean it in the Breville.

The 1 cubic foot interior is spacious enough to fit a 13-inch pizza, nine slices of toast, or a full 9x13 baking pan. The results are comparable to or better than most dedicated air fryers.

I love my Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro, don't get me wrong. For the last three years it's basically replaced my big oven for everything except making tons of cookies.

We’ve had ours for over 7 years and use it more than our regular oven. We have roasted chickens and small turkeys and baked casseroles and lasagna in it many times.

If you can get a good deal on it I think it’s worth it. I think the only issue is that it’s hard to clean. I wish there was a tray on the bottom you could take in and out for when you air fry

The dedicated Philips is WAYYY better than the Breville at air frying. Food is much more crispy with the Philips. I used to reheat fast food fries in the Philips, but don’t even bother with the Breville.

r/Expertohome— neutral

the app helps guide cooking better timing, temps, and prompts make it feel easier and more consistent, even if the crispiness is still below a standalone air fryer.

Bumping this because mine does this too! I dont understand! I definitely have to extend the time longer than the packaging recommends for chicken patties as an example, the frozen mode is not long enough!

I have the Breville, and use it they way you're thinking about. Usually protein on middle rack, and starch and/or veg one the bottom. Its worked well for me. And of course, its great for one-pan casseroles etc.

A smart oven (I have one) is not an air fryer and does not function at all like an air fryer. If you want an air fryer, you need to buy a real air fryer.

I use mine constantly. My built-in oven takes 1-2 hours of fan to cool off when I use it. My Breville cools off and shuts the fans down in 5 minutes.

We just got one from a friend who didn’t want it and I was so confused too, like it’s not too bad cuz the door pauses the timer but it seems like a basic function
